Scary Movie series can be considered horror/comedy, but they tend to lean more on the comedy in the later installments

I sorta like when movies purposely go over the top and some examples are Grindhouse or Sin City. any others you can think of?

Is there a way to improve the films shown at the local theater?

Do theaters buy the movies they show, or is it up to the company where the movies are distributed?

unless you own the theatre, no. Theatres have contracts with distributors and they have contracts with studios. If the distributor doesn’t think the movie will sell in your area, they won’t carry it. By the way, theatres make no money on ticket sales. Nearly all their money comes from concessions. That’s why you pay $15 for a large popcorn and water.

And usually all these stars show up, and wear fancy dresses.

The "Oscar’s" or the Academy Awards are probably considered the biggest. Or the pinnacle of all movie award shows…

But there are the Emmy’s and the BAFTA’s and Cannes…

My husband and I have never seen a Bollywood film, but we are very interested. I would love any suggestions you might have for films that we should see.

I have a friend who is obsessed with films like SAW, anything with zombies,
blood and gore, or films the Ring or Orphan. Yet, she’s very involved with her church and interprets for the deaf during services on Sundays. I find this to be so perplexing because I can’t watch these types of films without feeling
sick to my stomach.

I don’t know how to classify this Christian friend of yours except to say that she likes to watch horror movies. Some people like this type of entertainment. It’s not my thing…I can’t stand the blood and gore! But who am I to judge?….((Hugs))

we are looking for the silent film such as ben-hur, the white whale,the films that would also have the words down below the move.cleopatra, tarzan,mobydick.

Every time I look for an old movie, it feels impossible. But recently I’ve been having a lot of success with OVGuide. You just go on, type in any of the search words you have above and they’ll provide you with a ton of links!

Kind of a difficult job to get. You can become a "musical director" on a film, but they usually pick people with a musical background and you have to know people who know people. Sometimes directors will pick the music themselves, or hire a composer for the score, and the composer will help pick music that fits the feel of his/her score and vice versa.
