Avatar looked good, but the story sucked balls.

  3. only seen one of …
only seen one of those films – Avatar. Visually stunning but it’s quite cheesy and the plot is fairly predictable. was quite good though. my friend fell asleep in the cinema! Considering it was critically acclaimed, it was suprisingly un-advertised (is that a word?doubt it) over here (Wales) and it was only in my local cinema for a week.

  8. Avatar: Great …
Avatar: Great looking but very predictable.
Basterds: Too long and slow. Not enough of each character (except Landa).
Coraline: My fave movie of last year.
Precious: Liked the movie, hate the title.
    A Single Man? You rock!

    I think (500) Days …
I think (500) Days of Summer was snubbed, i didn’t expect to win best picture or anything but it should have been nominated for something, it the best romantic comedy I’ve seen in a really long time. And The Blind Side was okay, the only really good part about that movie was Sandra Bullock in my opinion.

    So that comment …
So that comment below this one from MonayAndTheGays? That was mine. Oops. HERE’S WHAT IT SAID:

AVATAR – pretty but who cares when the script is so weak and predictable

INGLORIOUS BASTERDS – Quentin needs someone to edit his scripts. Again, pretty and fun, but so much fatty tissue.

I agree heartily with the Up/Coraline/Fox combo.

Haven’t seen precious or single man yet. :/

I just fell in love …
I just fell in love with your vlog. Xavier Dolan is a wonder child, his movie was about as good as a directional/screen writing/producing debut can get. Oh, and he did everything else aswell. Avatar is _not_ worth the hype. And yes, A Single Man should’ve gotten more nods.

    Opinion on the …
Opinion on the Blind Side: It was a pretty good movie, one of those feel good movies that you just wish everyone’s lives could be that uplifting so that the world would be a better place – in a non-um… non sickening way? That’s not the right word, but i can’t think of it right now…

And Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting for the win, but I don’t really think that Inglorious Basterds should be up there. It had a great story, so I can see Best Writing, but as a movie it was Slow…

I totally love your movie choice! Avatar for the visual effects. Up for the best animation (I almost cried). Inglorious was great, but it’s not one my first choices. A Single Man!!! So good…I had a thrill just when I heard the music of the triller.

And J’ai tué ma mère…so glad you talked about this movie. I saw it last June and I absolutely want to buy it in DVD. You know, the movie got 4 nominations for Québec’s Jutras (ok, I know this is not the Oscars, but…)

  24. I have that bird …
