Vivah – Bollywood Movie with English Subtitles

Watch Shahid Kapoor & Amrita Rao in in Rajshri Productions’ Vivah – A journey from engagement to marriage, directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya, music composed by Ravindra Jain. Vivah is the story of Poonam & Prem. Poonam (Amrita Rao) an orphaned middle-class girl who lives with her uncle (Alok Nath) and aunt (Seema Biswas). Poonam’s chachi (aunt) has been unable to accept Poonam as her own child as she is more beautiful than chachis daughter, Rajni (Amrita Prakash). Poonam’s simple and affectionate demeanor touches the heart of Bhagatji (Manoj Joshi) who takes her marriage proposal for Prem (Shahid Kapoor), son of renowned businessman Mr. Harishchandra (Anupam Kher). In spite of being brought up in the fast city life of New Delhi, Prem is rooted to the ground and has retained his familys traditional values and upbringing.
Respecting his fathers wishes, Prem agrees to meet Poonam to get to know her better. What follows is a ‘meeting’ arranged by the two families. Prem and Poonam are suddenly in the midst of a situation they have never been in before. They discover their soul mates in each other and are engaged – to be married in six months. Prem and Poonam go through the most magical and romantic period of their lives. Six months fly by and just when everything is set for Prem and Poonam to get married… a crisis puts the love of Prem and Poonam through a trial by fire. ‘Vivah’ is a heart-warming tale of their unconditional love…

A beautiful unique …
A beautiful unique romantic movie of lovely pair. Amrita looks gorgeous and her face expressions are just great. I have watched this movie nearly 6 times in the last 4 days.
Every single scene is full of emotions, great acting and lovely dialogues. It beautifully depicts the bond between different relationships of real sub-continent culture.
This shows that a movie can be successful based around the simplicity and moral values instead of cheap dresses and vulgar scenes.

i don’t have to choose to work or refuse traditional marriage to be an indipendant woman…if someone is really open minded..they’d understand that an independant woman is the woman who makes her own choices…even if that choice was to stay home and serve her husband and family

what’s so sad about …
what’s so sad about reading the comments on this wonderful movie is seeing how some people claim to be defending women’s rights while in fact they’re forcing women to be stuck in the frame THEY think liberating and appropriate. i’m not indian but i enjoy and respect indian movies…i think this one is very romantic and the girl chose to be with this guy…it was her choice and she was happy….
