Does it annoy you that great action and comedy films don’t win the big Oscars!?

I don’t mean for special effects, I mean the big Oscars like best film and best director.
I would at least nominated Dark Night for best film.
Yes it’s very annoying, I agree with the Dark Night being nominated for best film.

As much as the Oscars is self indulgent and political, the movies that are nominated are the best around generally

yeh dark knight was a good film, i don’t think 7 pounds was nominated for any and will smith was amazing in that, so that annoyed me

What movie would it have replaced on the list though? That’s what you have to think about. With the exception of Frost/Nixon, I saw all of them, and artistically, they were all better movies than The Dark Knight, so I can only assume Frost/Nixon was also.
The Dark Knight was obviously entertaining and popular, but worthy of best picture award? I don’t think so.
I, however, did think Doubt should’ve been nominated, but again I don’t know which movie it would have replaced. All of the nominees deserved to be there.

YES! Pineapple Express should have one something…..freakin’ hilarious movie, I love how Seth and James reenacted their parts from Pineapple Express to show the Comedies of 2008! I laughed so hard!
