What does one-dimensional and sub-plot mean in terms of films/movies?

I’ve checked the internet and the definitions aren’t really clear…please help.
One dimensional means essentially only one thing is happening. Nothing more nothing less.
Pretty much it means if you are reading this somewhere about a movie?
It sucked.
Sub Plot, means other then the main storyline there are little ones happening all around.

1 dimensional means flat, as in one plot.
sub-plots are stories within the main story
films without sub plots can be one dimensional – a bit uninteresting. They don’t make you think too hard.
If you watch a TV soap, then you see many sub plots, well really, the whole show is made of sub plots.
A film may have one plot, the zombies invade and take over the planet, – one dimensional
But, normally there is a sub plot, where man meets woman and fall in love, while zombies invade, man finds long lost brother, zombies continue to invade. – contains sub plots.

hi there.
One-dimensional means, having no character or background involved – most action flicks are like this, a guy on his own does impossible things involving explosions and walks away at the end of it. They always put in a few minutes of "acting" these days, but it usually fails.
Sub-plots are little plots happening inside the main plot, usually following minor characters. 4 Weddings was like this, the main plot was Hugh Grant but the sub-plots included the death of Simon callow and the marriage of James Grout.
Cheers, Steve,.
