I Met the Walrus
April 13, 2010 - 8:51 pm
In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin and illustrators James Braithwaite and Alex Kurina have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack. A spellbinding vessel for Lennon’s boundless wit and timeless message, I Met the Walrus was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Animated Short and won the 2009 Emmy for ‘New Approaches’ (making it the first film to win an Emmy on behalf of the internet).

The kid was …
The kid was brilliant, absolutletly brilliant- becuase of of his innocense and teeenage intellegience. He was uncorrupted when he did this, and I have a feeling that’s why Lennon’s answers seemed so pure and uncorrupted themselves. Motherfucker! no matter what you believe, you have to take the kids serious thoughts into consideration, because if you dont, your missing out on humanity. Unfortunetly thats the way it is nowadays.

I remember seeing …
I remember seeing this when it was nominated on the Oscars. Combines two great things, John Lennon and Animation. I should do this, I’ve stayed at many hotels in Toronto with celebrities. I met Lou Ferrigno (Hulk), some sci fi tv people, Dave Thomas and his mom, the Jonas Brothers were staying there too, but I was glad I didn’t meet them.

@benboyang1 …
@benboyang1 Apparently he only said that in Glass Onion to try and calm things down between him and Paul, or something like that.

Wonder how the …
Wonder how the director feels after he made the biggest screw up which he can’t change now. The Walrus wasn’t John. The walrus was Paul. John explains this in the song Glass Onion on the White album.
I love this movie, but man, what a mistake!!!!!!!!!

It’s really cool, but the animation kinda distracts from John’s message, it’s amazing to just listen to.
