What films can you recommend for classroom use?

I teach Literacy, Numeracy and ICT for 16-18 year olds. I would like to use films for lessons. Any suggestions? Also do you know of any resources to go with films?

I’m not sure this will help but i think Schindler’s List should be made part of our school curriculum even if it just a few lessons in the final year . I got my daughter to sit down and watch it when she was 16 and she was horrified it brought tears to her eyes and i was disgusted to learn that the entire storyline was unheard of to her .

What on earth DO schools teach nowadays ?

I would suggest a movie based on a book. You could do a comparison study between the two.

Of Mice and Men is always a classic; the book and the movie have many differences, but are both very good.

I would suggest a Beautiful Mind since it is PG 13

Don’t forget that you will need a licence to do so.
