Why are all the cowboys in the old films always middle aged or older?

  2. haha i’d never noticed that but now u mention it i guess they are – when you think of it, i read somewhere that the average life span in the wild west was abt 43 yrs …. myabe they are all young guys who just had a hard life haha :)

  4. yeah, I never thought about that before. You would think a younger actor would play a cowboy in movies because the old west was dangerous and most people didn’t live past 35. I think an older actor gives the character a more experienced, tougher look as if he’s seen it all and been through it all.
