The Dogs Of War (Part 2)

February 27, 2010 - 5:21 pm 6 Comments

Heres one of the most surprisingly good films Ive ever seen on IFC. Normally the Independent Film Channel has a penchant for showing unusual or obscure films that arent really independent in the true sensethis film happens to be one of them.

The Dogs of War (released by United Artists) is a 1980 war film based upon the novel of the same namer by Frederick Forsyth, directed by John Irvin. It stars Christopher Walken and Tom Berenger as part of a small, international unit of mercenary soldiers privately hired to depose President Kimba of a fictional “Republic of Zangaro”, in Africa, so that a British tycoon can gain mining access to a huge platinum deposit. This movie was filmed on location in Belize.

The Dogs of War title is a phrase from William Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar (1599), which uses the line Cry, ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war (line 270, scene 1, Act III).

Christopher Walken had just come off of the great success of The Deer Hunter in 1978, and he delivers a wonder performance in this film, playing the main mercenary that scouts out and eventually pulls together a team to go into this fictitious country to help overthrow one govt. to install another one. Tom Berenger is also equally as good, in one of his earlier rolls. Youll also notice that several of the mercenary supporting cast just happen to be important stars in another great action film of the 1980s (and probably of all time).Raiders of the Lost Ark. In this film, youll see Paul Freeman as Dr. René Belloq in that film, plus Eddie Tagoe, one of the black crew members on the ship caring the Ark.

All The Best Full Movie Part 3 | HQ | Ajay Devgan Sanjay Dutt Bipasha Basu Fardeen Khan | Hindi Film

February 27, 2010 - 5:21 pm 3 Comments

All The Best Full Movie Part 3 | HQ High Quality | Ajay Devgan Sanjay Dutt Fardeen Khan Mughda Godse Bipasha Basu Johnny Lever | New Hindi Comedy Movie |

Prem Chopra (Ajay Devgan) is a wannabe car expert, who lives with his beautiful wife Jhanvi (Bipasha Basu). Together, the two of them run Prems ancestral gym. Known to them is Veer Kapoor (Fardeen Khan), an upcoming rock band singer who claims to be a married guy. He has a sexy girlfriend Vidya (Mugdha Godse) and lives off the pocket money given by his millionaire step brother Dharam Kapoor (Sanjay Dutt).

Everything is going fine in the life of Prem, Jhanvi, Veer and Vidya. However, the peace doesnt last long, as Dharam enters the picture. He brings along a lot of chaos as well, resulting in amusingly embarrassing situations in the life of almost everyone. Now, Prem and Veer not only have to handle weird characters who turn up at their doorstep, but also cover up things with lots and lots of lies. Will they be able to do it? Or will the pressure of juggling things get at them ultimately? Whatever happens, the audience sure will be getting a lot of laughs!

Ajay Devgan & Sanjay Dutt steal the show in All The Best. While Ajay is getting better in comedy with time, his pairing with Dutt brought out the very best. The two seem to be having fun onscreen and manage to transfer their energy to the audience as well. Johnny Lever and Sanjay Mishra add to the fun. Bipasha Basu did well for her first comic flick, while Fardeen managed to bring a few genuine laughs. However, Mugda didnt get to do much and needs to boost her comic quotient. This one is a complete no-brainer, so those expecting a high-IQ comedy should stay at home. Rest everyone will surely enjoy it at the multiplex.

It is said that money is good only till the time you keep it as your servant. The moment you let money become your master, all breaks loose. Based on a similar concept is Ajay Devgans upcoming production All The Best. The star cast of the movie includes Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse, and Asrani. The music has been provided by none other Pritam, with Kumaar being the lyricist.

Promising to bring your loads of laughs as well as surprises, All The Best has been directed by Rohit Shetty. In addition, it also promises to offer you loads of action sequences. In other words, we can say that this Hindi film is a fine combination of just about everything that makes a movie a box-office hit – comedy, thrills and surprises.

Starcast: Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan / Devgan, Mughda Godse, Bipasha Basu, Asrani, Fardeen Khan, Johnny Lever, etc.
Songs from the movie: Kyun, Haan Main Jitni Martaba sung by K.K., etc.

Peace All Over The World | Playing For Change

February 21, 2010 - 5:21 pm 20 Comments

http://playingforchange.com/episodes/23/Peace_All_Over_The_World – We met Robert Bradley while shooting our first film, “Playing for Change: A Cinematic Discovery of Street Music.” Robert is originally from Detroit, Michigan, but we filmed this song in Los Angeles in front of a Playing For Change graffiti wall painted by a local artist. We had just finished a take of Robert singing “Playing For Change Blues,” a song we created while filming across America, and were beginning to interview him. All of a sudden he started speaking the lyrics to this song… We immediately grabbed another mic for his guitar, plugged it directly into the camera and asked him to perform it for us. Enjoy!

Cinema 2009

January 16, 2010 - 5:43 am 25 Comments

1 Year, 342 Movies, Endless hours of hard work, 7 Minutes.
2009 proved that innovation is rewarded; this year we saw great films coming from every direction, so I used more of them for the video. The sequel to the reason most of you subscribed is here: enjoy, leave a comment and take a look at my other work!

I didn’t count them by hand, though. It’s very well possible there are fewer movies in there. I had 342 different movie trailers for footage.
